Kathmandu, April 13 President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has wished for peace, prosperity, longevity and happiness to all the Nepalis at home and abroad on the occasion of the Nepali New Year 2076 BS. Issuing a greeting today, President Bhandari expressed confidence that in the year 2076 the government would work to achieve its motto and common goal of all Nepalis, ‘Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali’.
“I am hopeful that international communities who love Nepal will cooperate to help us realise the motto of Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali,” said Bhandari in her message, wishing that the New Year would give more energy to strengthen the historic achievements gained through a long struggle, through good-governance and prosperity.
Reminding that year 2075 BS was successful in formulating new laws as per the federal system and institutional strengthening, the head of the state urged all the Nepalis to move ahead with high morale. She also wished to see the New Year 2076 succeed in achieving sustainable peace and prosperity for the country.
Likewise, Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun has wished for good health, peace and progress to all the Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad on the same occasion.
In a message of best wishes on the occasion, Vice-president Pun asserted that the country was moving ahead on the path of sustainable peace, development and economic prosperity with the campaign of ‘Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali.’ Stating that foundation for development and prosperity was laid in the year 2075, Pun also expressed his belief that the New Year would be a year for taking strides towards economic and social transformation of the country.
He also spoke of the need to further strengthen the achievements such as federal republic, secularism and social justice, achieved after a long struggle and to usher Nepal to the path of development and prosperity.
He also underscored the need to further consolidate nationality, geographical indivisibility, sovereignty and liberty of the Nepali people.
The Vice-president also wished that the New Year 2076 would enable an environment of cooperation and goodwill and draw the attention of all Nepalis towards nation-building.
