KATHMANDU, June 4: Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) has urged the government to fulfill its commitment for the implementation and amendment of the constitution.

Speaking during the meeting at the parliament on Tuesday, RJP lawmaker Pramod Shah criticized the government for not addressing the demand of the constitution amendment though the issue had been raised since the formation of the government in the house.

Though Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had assured the amendment of the constitution as per need, the government is reluctant for the amendment process, added Shah and urged the Speaker to rule out the government for the constitution amendment.  He accused the government of possessing discriminatory and racist policy and blamed the government for its activities against the norms and values of the federalism. He also accused the Public Service Commission of announcing the vacancy against the constitution.

The lawmakers of the party stood and protested as soon as the Speaker announced the commencement of the house following which Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara provided time to Shah to speak on behalf of the party.
