KATHMANDU, July 15: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Baskota has said that the government would not accept foreign investment in media.
He clarified that the government would stand against foreign investment in the media of the country. Speaking in an interaction program with the media entrepreneurs in the capital on Monday, Minister Baskota also maintained that one media house cannot invest in radio, television, and FMs. He urged the media house to clarify their stance on terrorist activities. He was concerned over some news recently published in the media that could promote the violence.
He asserted that the government would take action against those media houses that hesitate in giving a minimum salary to the journalists. He added that the government is committed to regulate media houses.
